It's tough being a teacher, tougher being a student
I shall vent my anger on this blog about this teacher and teachers in general. And what I dislike about them. Sadly, I can't put her name here. Or I'll be dead. Alright then. Let's get started.1. Comparisons. Citing an example. "I can't let y'all do fun/interesting/engtaging activities such as group work. But I can do that with _____ (insert class here). Why? Why is it that they missed a week of school, you guys were in school yet, they're still faster than you? My ______ (insert same class here) can behave properly and listen. Why can't you? Blah blah blah." For goodness sake. If you like that class so much, go back there and teach lah! Who'd want to be put down like that. The same way they don't want us to compare them with other teachers, they should spare a thought for us. 2. Differences. I'm talking more about intellectual abilities here. Stop saying that Express classes should be well-behaved should be this and that. Smart does not equate to good character. I shan't even put smart. What's so wrong about NA/NT pupils? Some of them can be great people (and nice too.) Basically, STOP COMPARING. 3. Blaming us. Basically, this one's about naggy teachers. Some teachers waste precious lesson time to lecture us on how we shouldn't be poking holes into the ceiling with sticks and making the class become a "fire hazard" with newspaper recycling. Then while they drone on and on, we sit there staring, sometimes chatting in whispers. When we could be doing what we go to school for. TO LEARN. Not to get nagged at. And then, after a while of nagging, the bell goes and whaddya know? The kids get blamed. CMON. Actually that's all I have to say about teachers in general so far. Now I shall lament on how schools murder children (Pardon me if you find this post exceptionally boring). Parents, ever since your child is born, you provide him/her with the best you can. Love/shelter/food etc. Then, after a few years your child needs to go to school. That's where the murdering comes in. And it's not just the child too. Mind that wallet. You see, kids can come back home crying exclaiming the national exam papers were too hard, and that you're gonna fail/die etc. Parents, doesn't your heart ache at this sight. Or for another instance, the pile of homework, the CCAs, people that takes up a lot of time. I think school slowly sucks out all your energy. So, you hardly get to see your kids and talk to them face to face. Why? Homework, that's why. I do believe there should be a cancer for "stress". And no, I'm not kidding. I'm dead serious. There's hardly any time for family outing etc. About that wallet of yours. Watch it. You see, the basic school fees shouldn't be TOO much of a problem, unless you sleep for a living. But what about tuitions, the programmes the schools has etc. That's costly. Oh yes, it is. Furthermore, if your kids don't get into a local university, you'd want them to go into an overseas one. Then choose a prestigious one and say everything's fine. NO. That can incur to more than $10, 000 a year. Plus, you have to include living expenses, the bills etc. So, unless you're still gloating that you'll do fine because you have a big, fat wallet. My advice is that you give it to me. Anyway, yes, you've provided the best for your child, but don't you want him/her to be happy too? And not look so dead because there are going to be tests and there's just so much homework. Now, hand that fat wallet of yours over. I know it's rather boring to read my complaints about school etc, but it's just so tempting. =] |
