I'm living through a crazy life. Life can be stressful hell, but I still live. Music is my therapy sometimes to get away from it all, and have been writing music since I was 10.

Kris vs. Adam

Why Kris will do better than Mr Lambert in the long run.

1. Sales
You might say I'm not making sense, but take a look. For 3 weeks now, Kris has had relatively stable sales. (Dropping, yes, but still.) Adam's For Your Entertainment sales from first week to second week posted the highest drop (75%). From just under 200, 000 copies to 40, 000 plus copies, that's pretty bad. And in Singapore, where it's pretty conservative, Kris' does better.

2. Airplay
Kris' Live Like We're Dying is doing much, much better than Adam's For Your Entertainment. His single has peaked at #41 while For Your Entertainment hasn't made it past #60. Peaking at only #61. Kris' digital sales for LLWD stands at 214,308 while Adam's FYE has sold only 117,000. You hear more of Kris than Adam on radio, don't you? He has charted on U.S. ARC Weekly Top 40; U.S. Billboard Hot 100; U.S. Billboard Pop Songs; U.S. Billboard Christian Songs; U.S. Billboard Adult Pop Songs U.S. Billboard Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks; U.S. Billboard Hot Digital Songs; U.S. Billboard Radio Songs; New Zealand RIANZ Singles Chart; New Zealand RIANZ Radio Airplay. Adam? Canadian and Billboard Hot 100.

3. Controversy
Kris doesn't stir up controversy to sell. He doesn't get cancelled from shows, and networks aren't afraid of Kris. Unlike..

4. Originality
Kris is much more original than Adam. When he sings, you know he means it. Adam's vocals are good, but you somehow get the feeling he's always singing to a crowd, and not one-on-one. Adam seems distant when he sings. Like when you just strip the performance down, live acoustic, without all the backup dancers or distracting things on stage, Kris is better than Adam.

5. No Real Rivals
True, Adam doesn't have a real rival to steal sales ffrom him, Lady Gaga's the closest rival. But we already have a Lady Gaga. Kris rivals others like John Mayer, even Michael Buble, but I'd rather have Kris' career a marathon rather than a sprint.

6. Kris impressed, Adam didn't
About the AMAs, it's not just the silly antics that was ridiculous, it was also Adam's vocals. He wasn't on pitch, like he should have. His vocals could've done much better, but if you noticed, vocal delivery was really terrible that night. And Kris' album impressed me more than Adam's did. FYE (the song) is seriously real bland. So is the Whataya You Want From Me. While Kris, he impressed me with I Need To Know. I was like. Wow. Even when Time For Miracles was good, Adam just couldn't make his first single more fiery. That sorta thing works for him. Bland piece of pop does not.

Kris stayed true
Kris promised a pop/rock record. He delivered. Adam promised an album with dancefloor anthems, basically everything. But he's given a mish mash of everything that goes no where. It's not as focused as Kris. Or his rival Lady Gaga. He's trying to do too many things at once. And it seems Adam's album is overmanufactured, overdone, and a tad distracting.

I won't lie. Adam is better known worldwide. And will provide better chart positions. But time will tell if he's nothing but a novelty product. I don't think he will be. But I'd rather he do a hard rock, Led-Zeppelin-esque record than a Lady Gaga-esque record. That's why I was disappointed with his music. He's not doing what he's best at. Kris is. I rest my case.
