Destination: Hong Kong

Alrighty then. Let's get started on the trip to Hong Kong.

Tuesday, Day 1
Woke up bright and early. Well, sorta. And when I was at the airport, I realised I didn't bring a lotta stuff like my camera charger. Damn. I had Subway for breakfast. When I was in the plane (Cathay Pacific) if you were wondering, I watched this movie called Couples Retreat. Genuinely not bad. Even though I'd never heard of it prior the flight. OH WELL. When we reached HK, the temperature was real nice. You know the kind of aircon temperature but yet feels warm at the same time? I don't know how that works. But anyway. We had lunch at one of these small restaurants. It was 6 bucks for my lunch. The meat there was pretty good. The rest was just okay. After that we walked around the area to get our bearings. We had dinner at one of the small restaurants and I fell asleep before the food came. Didn't really enjoy the dinner. Maybe because I was too tired. And after that my stomach was queasy and I felt just a tad sick. But I was fine after a while.

Wednesday, Day 2
You know how frustrating it is when you're on holiday and you keep dreaming of school? Lol. Anyway. My mum walked around the area of our hotel more in the morning while I slept in. =) My mum bought back breakfast from McDonalds' just across the street and went out again. Once again, I had the hotel room all to myself. See, the whole point of going to Hong Kong was because my Aunt went there fro business trip so we tagged along. So my grandma, cousins all stayed in my Aunts' hotel. JW Marriot, mind. The room's big. And grand. Anyway. Up till this point, I was fifteen chapters into my book. But more about my book later. So we had lunch at this (according to the concierge), a very popular and good Tim Sum place. On the way there, cigarette smoke was in the air as usual. It's bloody frustrating by the way. At the restaurant we ordered pigeon and one of my cousins ate in thinking it was duck. You should've seen the look on his face when he realised it was pigeon. Lol. After lunch we took this ferry to go to central Hong Kong and hopped onto this open top bus which was awesome. I liked the breeze. =) Then we went back by the ferry and had lunch at this pathetic foodcourt in this shopping mall. The food in the foodcourt is pathetic. Seriously. There were really limited choices and what I had wasn't very good. The chicken was awfully dry. After that we went to see the Symphony Of Lights by the harbour and I managed to take a few really good shots, I must say. It was 15 minutes of lights flashing around. Ahhhh, not very interesting. After that we started walking back to the hotel already.

Thursday, Day 3
Ocean Park today. We had breakfast at this place called Banquet something. Anyway, I thought it was better than the lunch we had the previous day. Comparing the Tim Sum here. It was really delicious, I must say. So we took the MTR to Admiralty Station and took bus number 629. Ocean Park wasn't crowded since it was a weekday. Good thing. So we took rides and all that. The theme park closes at about 6 so we went for dinner straight after that. We had dinner at this small cafeteria and the meat as usual was not bad. So after that we just went back to the hotel.

Friday, Day 4
We had breakfast at one of the small cafeterias around the hotel as usual. We took a train all the way to the suburbs of Hong Kong and crossed over to Shen Zhen. All we did was this mall which was smelly and people could smoke inside. Yuck. We just walked around the mall and the shop assistants were really desperate. They wouldn't give up pushing their goods to you. Do you wanna buy this, do you wanna buy that, are you interested in buying this so on and so forth. And when you shake off one annoying shop assistant, another one comes along. GENIUS. We had dinner at this Chinese restaurant. The food was real salty. Anyway. We took a train back to Hong Kongand walked to a MacDonalds' since we had an early dinner. When we went back to the hotel, I managed to finish reading my book. AWESOME BOOK. The climax was only about half a page though. BOO.

Saturday, Day 5
Apparently, we were gonna do more shopping today. My dream was so weird though. I dreamt that I skipped school to go out and buy something which I can't recall now. But anyway, apparently Lady Antebellum was gonna be there and people were waiting for their arrival, screaming and shouting. Soon the whole place was packed and I couldn't go back into the shop to buy what I wanted to buy. Like what??! (Christine, all your fault, make me dream of Lady Antebellum. Haha.) Anyway, I think That CD Shop called me about Katharine McPhee's Unbroken. But I think I was walking and didn't feel the vibration. Anyway, so I didn't pick up their call, and they didn't call me again. Fine, fine. Anyway, we headed towards this mall in Kowloon and had lunch at this incredibly expensive restaurant which was also the least satisfying restaurant out of all the restaurants we'd had been to. I guess us Singaporeans don't know how to appreciate it. After that we went our seperate ways and I went to this CD shop called Hong Kong Records. I'm bloody envious. They have almost everyone's album there. Katharine McPhee's Unbroken, Blake Lewis' Heartbreak On Vinyl, Jessie James' eponymous debut album. ARGH. It was frustrating to see so many albums Singapore doesn't bring in. So, I bought Jessie James' since they don't bring her album in at all. We were planning to go to Tung Chung which was all the way at the other side of Hong Kong but decided it was too late. In the end we went to the Ladies' Market and Goldfish Market. Waste of time and it was seriously really squeezy. There was nothing very much anyway. We went back to one of the restaurants that we'd already been to before for lunch but this time was dinner. We ordered this set thing which was just okay and we went back to the hotel after that.

Sunday, Day 6 (Last Day)
We had to wake up real early to go to the airport. We could take the free shuttle bus to the airport called the Airport Express. The stupid bus driver didn't help us with our heavy luggage at all. All he did was watch us struggle. Thanks, dude. We had Popeyes at the aiport for lunch and I love the fact that we took a newer plane so the entertainment system is definitely better. I watched The Blind Side, Top Gear etc etc. Awesome.

Time to let the pictures do the talking.
